Hypnosis Therapy

- with Larry McMahon

My home is in County Kerry, Ireland.

Kerry Scenery

The scenery here can be quite breath-taking....when it's not raining! My wife Heidi and I share a cottage on the rugged coastline...facing out into the Atlantic Ocean. So this is where I now do my work.

Larry McMahon - Hypnosis Therapy
I am a graduate of University College Dublin, and the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. My early career was spent as a salesman in Britain, working my way up to a marketing management position with Lever Brothers. I then left, to join the Irish Management Institute in Dublin. I spent many happy years there as a Senior Management Specialist. It was at the IMI that I first began to develop my own style of management training - based on hypnosis !

I left the IMI in 1981 to develop my own independent practice. I then began to specialise in the area of Personal Development. And so I have been ever since...working as a management training consultant, coach & hypnotherapist.. Perhaps my best-known public training course, was called "Untap your True Potential !". I ran this regularly in Dublin, for groups of chief executives, senior managers and professionals. Most of the courses I ran were "in-company" with different organisations, mainly in Europe. I specialised in Personal Development training for business & professional leaders.

I have also been a practising Hypnotherapist for over 35 years. My very first experience of Hypnotherapy, was on the receiving end, over 40 years ago! The incredible Dr Jack Gibson of Naas, got me off cigarettes back then - permanently !

I myself learned the healing art of Hypnotherapy, mainly through intuition & experience. However, I also studied under the NLP "gurus" Richard Bandler and John Grinder. Like every modern hypnotherapist, I was also inspired by the work of the late Milton Erickson. But I mostly owe Dr Dave Dobson of St Juan Island (near Seattle)...who inadvertantly "kick-started" me into this way of working, more than thirty years ago.

Combining my experience of both Management Training and Hypnosis, I have also developed my own unique form of Executive Coaching. It's called Hypno-Coaching.

Innovations

As a training specialist with the Irish Management Institute in the 70s, I was one of the first to adapt and implement the Action-Learning approach, originated by the late Reg Revans . This transformed the Marketing Management Training Programme, which I ran back then for the IMI.

First trainer to adapt and implement NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) training for businesspeople in the U.K. (early 80's)

Inventor of Hypno-Training (a unique method, incorporating the principles and practice of Hypnosis into results-oriented management training). Presented and demonstrated to the Conference of the Association for Management Education & Development, in Henley, England....and subsequently to the International Creativity Conference in Buffalo, U.S.A.

""Untap your True Potential" is the personal development training programme for Chief Executives and Senior Managers, which I designed some years ago. I ran it originally at the Irish Management Institute in Dublin for a number of years. I subsequently upgraded this programme completely - and ran it then as a 5-day event, at Moyglare Manor, just outside Dublin, as well as in various locations in the U.K. This programme was unique inasmuch as it enabled experienced senior executives to reach new heights of achievement - through Hypno-Training.

Developer of a new form of one-to-one Hypnotherapy, which triggers dramatic (and permanent ) changes...after just one session. Perhaps you are thinking about such a Hypnotherapy session for yourself ? Would you like more information about my approach ? If so - just click onto my Frequently asked Questions page.

Hypno-Coaching combines what I've learned about management Development and NLP and Hypnosis over the years. It is a unique form of Executive Coaching for business leaders.

The current pandemic has changed all our lifestyles. It prompted me to find a better way of working. So I developed my own unique Hypnosis Online method. It combines all the benefits of face-to-face therapy with the technology of the Internet. And it works really well!.

What am I up to, these days?

These days, I spend most of my time working with individual clients, on a one-to-one basis - using my own style of Hypnotherapy.  I work exclusively online.  And the results are even better!

As you may have gathered, my background is in the results-driven world of business. Business people are mainly interested in results ! And this has been my own approach too - in developing my unique form of Hypnotherapy.

I am a voracious reader of books about the Human Condition. People are continuously fascinating to me. Over the years I have been building up a list of books. I call this list.... "Some Readable Books on the Human Condition" . To qualify for inclusion in this list, a book must...1) Throw some light on the human condition....and 2) Be readable.

As you can imagine, 99.5% of books fail this double test! The testing itself of course is purely subjective! Anyway, if you would like like to look at, or copy this list - just click here for your Book List !
